Design Notes:

I wanted to tell the story of Cayey through a mountainous theme, so the upper features a mix of materials: beige leather and mesh, brown suede, green leather, and reflective paneling.

To add hiking-inspired details, I helped develop a custom lace lock, giving customers the option to wear the sneakers without tying them. I also designed a custom mountain logo on the tongue, incorporating Yandel’s letter “Y” to represent Cayey’s famous twin peaks.

The sneakers come in a special box that I designed, featuring an English and Spanish comic printed on the inside to continue the story of our first shoe. Each pair also includes a custom Ewing x Yandel straw bag I developed to celebrate Yandel’s Latin roots.
