Design Notes:
Storytelling was one of my top priorities while leading creative direction at Ewing. It was largely absent before I took the helm, and I saw it as a critical gap. This officially licensed collaboration, developed in close partnership with the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, was an opportunity to address that head-on.
Inspired by Patrick Ewing’s induction into the Hall of Fame, the color story draws directly from the Hoop Hall identity. I used the same Pantones found in the Hall of Fame logo and referenced the Hoop Hall basketball mark to inform the basketball-textured leather used on the upper, ensuring the design felt institutionally grounded rather than interpretive.
Beyond the product itself, I led the art direction for the project and made sure the story was captured authentically by shooting the sneaker on site at the Hall of Fame. From concept and design to licensing alignment, art direction, and execution, the goal was to create a release that honored the significance of the moment while expanding how the brand told stories through product.
